The tide is high is Venice! A day Adventure!

You would have loved it! I went to Venice for a day adventure because I had a day off at university and I want to check it out with high tide! Lovely! I wasn't expecting that it would have been that high: reason way I had to buy a pair of galosh. Then I went to 'Punta delle Dogana' a contemporary art museum, really beautiful and it had been recostructed not long ago by Tadao Ando. Nice exposition of pieces of a collector: Francois Pinault.

Nouvelle Nouvelle

Talking about Terarium and gifts....have you ever been to this store in Vancouver? It is called Nouvelle nouvelle and it is in Gastown! It looks nice!

Let's turn the TV off!

I don't watch tv, but this is what people would need!
And this is the perfect book for a friend that is scheptic of TV. It is a great book and contemporary even if written in the '67. Beautiful, but a little heavy and slow

DIY + Christmas

Let's make something to decorate the Christmas lunch/dinner! Hey, how do you celebrate? Are you staying at your place?
Christmas gift if you've been naughty!
Heres a fun quirky gift for the friend who didn't make it onto Santa's nice list.

Instead of coal here's a 3d book of Boobs (glasses sold separately).  3DD

Christmas gift that keeps growing:
This would be a wonderful handmade gift for that person who is hopeless when it comes to saving the almost dead basil plant.

I'm someone who loves plants but I tend to kill them quickly... to much water, not enough water, to much sun, burnt.  Whatever the case maybe not everyone is born with a green thumb.  Thats why I love the idea of making Terrariums.  These are self contained giant vases with mosses and plants that take care of themselves by feeding off the moisture in the air.  I think this would be a way better gift to give then poinsettias, don't get me wrong they're lovely but lets get creative!  This blog has some great ideas!
Christmas girly gift:
For that special girlfriend who just needs a little clarity.

Billy bridge Jewelry is stunning. Using massive hunks of stones with healing properties these are sure to rock that gal pals christmas.   I'd choose smokey topaz because it is a divination stone that brings a heightened awareness and clarity of mind, and with all this holiday jazz we could all use a little focus.

Gifts for a small friend

Christmas gift: a kid with style ambitions

I've recentrly fell in love with this kind of details and the boots are genious!
This one for a kid is the cutest thing I've ever seen!

I'm really into this idea of taking old furniture and sprucing it up a bit, giving it a new character by adding fabrics, details that don't take away from the original framing but add to its charm.  The brooklyn based home decor business Nightwood specializes in reconstructed furniture and textiles.  Handcrafted and one of a kind each piece reincarnated into something more beautiful then the last!  I'm madly in love with this
mystic chaise lounge, but check out the chairs and book cases!

The Sway rocking chair, designed by Markus Krauss

So this is a pretty great piece of functional furniture!  Dear Santa for christmas i would like THIS!

In a do it yourself mood today?  I am! I've been getting all crafty and creative.  First thing i did was whip out my massive sketch pad and began the day with doodles!  I am totally into this getting stuff done and making stuff with my hands! Its fun!  So on that note i came across this DIY light fixture!  Totally inspired to begin the gather of materials for this project!  I bet you would like to make something like this! Fallow here for instructions.

Great packaging! Get inspired and get clever! haha I like these alot... working at a cafe for a decent amount of time i wish i could give someone a cup that read something funny!  Coffee is pretty boring as it is... lets just face it and have a little fun with the whole topic!  (okay I should take that last part back ... I admire coffee and the art of a really well crafted espresso... but at the end of the day we can't take ourselves to seriously.  Its just a cup of joe!)... new topic: Is it just a cup of joe or something more?  I'd like your thoughts on such a topic Milano! xo

Sometimes when you camp out on a friday night at home watching reruns of Seinfield and browsing the internet you stumble into good things!  Today is snowed and I totally felt like a new season had announced itself.  I like the idea that our beings change with the seasons.  Winter is upon us and although it is not official, the snow flakes were a sure sign that its not that far away.  So me in pre-hybernation mode have been all inspired for a shift in climate and a shift in mindset.  I've noticed my palette changing and I have tuned into a deeper appreciation for great design.  I saw these and thought you would enjoy the concept!  I stumbled into this website that had a really interesting range of things minimalissimo!  I like how minimal the track lighting looks!  Great design!

whatcha reading?

I was browsing for a magazine to leaf through over the weekend and skipping my usual finds i thought to expand my picks and go for something new.  So with this weekly montra of trying something new i grabbed a copy of The Monocle.   A clever magazine with issues relating to global matters, design, and culture!  Its devided into ABCDE affairs, business, culture, design and edits!

Steam Punk!  I just discovered this 80's movement!  Its a really funky group that has a subculture growing in Vancouver.  Disassembled time pieces are made into really interesting eyepieces, necklaces and various jewelery!  Wild!

Ceramics!

Louisa Taylor

Aneta Regel Deleu

There is something fascinating about ceramic... I was looking at some plates, really rough and a little naif, but they had so much to tell. I think that some ceramic pieces have a beautiful and unique story to tell. I would appreciate a nice ceramic thing for christmas! I can't find those plates I saw!
