How iconic are these images, from Ruth Orkin's series An American in Italy.  Seeing these I instantly get inspired and delited by the idea of travel.  The curiousity it evokes, the mystery and the excitement that inspires images like these.  Ruth Orkins a photojournalist from the 50's was sent by Life to Israel where she then traveled to Italy and in Florence.  With her friend Ninalee Craig she went to the streets and and shot pictures of what it’s really like to be An American in Italy.  Enjoy the discover of travel and on that note always dress the part, if you are going the mile to buy a ticket somewhere why not have fun with it and grasp the essence of the places you experience.  I thought you would enjoy her work.  read more here.

Finally! Why has no one designed these sooner?!  This is something that drives me insane when running with my music, the damn wires for the earbuds!  Great idea and design from Jay Bird.

Burberry accessories AW 2011

I like the juxtaposition of the elegant classic mocassin and the hiking soles (high soles of course! must have of the season...as we saw before!) Such a lovely shoe both casual and elegant. Perfect either in the rain, worn with rolled up pants and short shorts!

I like these layered glasses! I'm usually not a fan of the color palettes they have, but I really like these ones! Italian brand founded at the beginning of the XX century. Nice discover!

Quick commute

For those who are running late for the train here is a fun way to commute.... with a slide.  The  Dutch railway maintenance company ProRail has made this slide or to official name 'transfer accelerator' to offer travellers the opportunity to quickly reach the railway tracks when they're in a hurry.  via pop-up-city
