Incense Avignon - Series 3 - Comme des Garçons

Comme des Garçons' Incense Avignon by Bertrand Duchaufour is a masterpiece in perfumery and a lot had been written about it. The Incense Collection counts 5 perfumes inspired by 5 religions: Avignon - Chatolicism, Ouarzazate - Islam, Zagorsk – Orthodox Christianity, Jaisalmer – Hinduism, Kyoto – Buddhism and Shintoism. Avignon is the same exact unmistakable smell of Catholic churches. It raises peaceful and nice memories of when I used to go to church when I was little, but also some visits to ancient churches around Italy, France and Spain. It is a perfume with no land. This can be considered a piece of Art to me. I wear it once in a while, when I feel relaxed and reflective. It might smell odd for others around me, but it can also be a good starting point for a perfume conversation. Give it a try if you see it somewhere! It was a blind buy for me, but I read a lot about it. Unfortunately testers in Milan of this Serie are all over! I just found Jaisalmer, which was not really evokative for me.
