Replica's perfumes by Maison Martin Margiela are created by precise moments of the designer's life. The first releases, Beach Walk, Flower Market and Funfair Evening, were then followed by Jazz Club, Lazy Sunday Morning and Promenade in the Garderns. The French fashion brand presents in collaboration with SHOWstudio, 19 Motcomb St. London, their perfumes with a little exhibit focused on memories. 21 artists have been asked to represent one perfumes and the results are really fascinating.
Jazz Club is the only masculine fragrance (even if I would call unisex at least 2 of the others). Once home, I realized that the drawings I liked the most were inspired by the same perfume. Jazz Club recalls a Club in Brooklyn in 2013, Heady Cocktails and cigars. To be honest, I couldn't recall a similar memory, but yes, it does smell a bit of rum, tobacco and men's aftershave.
