No fucking way!!  Check this out they have finally done the unthinkable... and i thought the ipad was impressive.  A pen that reads a pantone based series of colors!  Its so simple

There are many novelty pens on the market. This Color Picker Pen is an innovative pen that can scan colors from anything around and instantly use the color for drawing. It is designed by Korean designer Jinsu Park. After you place the pen against an object, and press the scan button. The color is being detected by the color sensor and the RGB cartridge of the pen mixes the required inks to create the target color. This superb device will help people to observe the changing colors of nature. And also an innovative drawing pen. With this color picker, all range of artists will be able to create a more sensorial and visual insight of their surrounding nature's colors.

  1. I know! I saw it a while ago and I thought it was just incredible! The fun fact is that some classmates where designing the same exact thing and they didn't know about its existance. We talked a lot about it and there were actually some issues: eg. that apple has actually hundreds, or millions of colors, what color would it pic? Then, the surface (matt or gloss) can change the appearance of the color...what if the color is in the sun or in the shade? Well...these were just some issues that probably normal people wouldn't even think about...but it's true! I mean, think about a beautiful match of color of a leaf of a bench or a scarf on a woodden table, then you decide to get those colors and when you use them together they don't look beautiful anymore: that would be so sad!
But other than these nerdy observations it's an amazing product|
